Braum’s is a family-owned chain with roughly 300 stores across five states: Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. Every store sits within about 300 miles of the company’s farm and processing plant in Tuttle, Oklahoma — the reason the chain has stayed regional rather than expanding nationwide is that fresh milk, ice cream and bakery items are delivered from Tuttle to every store every other day.
Oklahoma — the largest footprint
Home state and headquarters, with roughly 105 to 145 stores. Biggest concentrations: Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Edmond, Norman, Yukon, Midwest City, Muskogee, Lawton, Shawnee, McAlester, Ardmore, Ada, Altus, Elk City and Seminole.
Texas — the second-largest
Around 113 to 120 stores, concentrated in the Panhandle, the Texas side of the Red River, and the Dallas–Fort Worth area: Fort Worth, Dallas, Amarillo, Lubbock, Tyler, Sherman, Vernon, Levelland, and Pantego near Arlington.
Kansas
About 32 stores. This is the Braum family’s original dairy territory — Wichita has the most, followed by El Dorado, Emporia, Newton, Pittsburg and Salina.
Missouri and Arkansas — the smallest presence
Missouri has about 15 stores, almost all in Springfield. Arkansas has about 13 to 14, mostly in Northwest Arkansas, with a Conway location approved in 2023 as the first in central Arkansas.
Why isn’t Braum’s in my state?
The 300-mile delivery radius from Tuttle is the whole answer. It’s a deliberate trade-off: fresher product, at the cost of never being a national chain.
